An Apsley House guide book from 1957

Hello everyone. Sadly this is not a message that lock-down is over. However, something that you might enjoy during this period of closure is this great video that was produced in 1952. This was the year that Apsley House opened to the public as a museum. After the Wellington Museum Act was arranged in 1947 with the ‘transfer of Apsley House and certain Wellington heirlooms’ to the nation, it was not long before visitors could come to enjoy the works of art and impressive interiors that we look after today.

Nobody should ever be at a loss for a good baton.
