I really enjoyed the talk on Zoom given by David Molony last week, as I’m sure those of you who tuned in for it did as well. The focus of his talk was Colonel Sempronius Stretton, who visited Apsley House several times for Wellington’s Waterloo banquets. As well as being a veteran of Waterloo, David mentioned that Stretton had also fought at the battle of New Orleans on 8th January 1815. Keith has sent us a song about that battle with some great pictures too, so here it is:
